Anybody heard anything about the new Insight Technology SSL-1 weapon-light? I just noticed it being advertised.

It certainly sounds interesting:

- Aerospace aluminum
- 80+ Lumen
- LED
- Water proof
- Shock proof
- Independent ambi constant & momentary rocker switch
- Adjustable slide-lock rail interface

As you know, I am an ITT dealer now. I will see if I can get some more info for you.

OK, I just found these on my dealer price sheet. They look like a bargain with a MAP of $146.

Here is some info on them: http://www.smartgunner.com/eProducts/INS_SSL1ds.pdf

I will order some of these to take a look at.

I looked at these at shot and thought they were pretty cool. I have some on order and should see them in January.

Here is the PDF on them.

OK, it works.

Thanks

FYI- I like the looks of it.

I wonder if it will fit holsters designed for the X200?

Didn't Streamlight buy Insight out?

Am I missing something here?

ITT made SL's gear for a long time. SL decided to have someone else make their TLR series. To say that ITT was a little pissed would be an understatement. That is why they have come out with the SSL-1.

The guys at ITT tell me that the SSL-1 will work with holsters designed for their M3X lights.

I did not know that, I guess a bit of competition for Surefire and Streamlight might be good for the consumers.

I have wanted one of these lights for quite some time, now maybe I will do it.

Was the SSL-1 at SHOT?

Any updates?

I did find this picture recently.

Slightly confused here. You're saying that Insight manufactured SL gear under their own brand under some kind of agreement? Which products than are indigenous to Insight apart from the PEQ/PAQ and other lasers?

Correct. ITT is now making a wide range of products to compete DIRECTLY with SL.

Grant is this still true? Are they supposed to work with M3 compatible holsters?

You mentioned something about them working with TLR-1 holsters instead during one of our last phone conversations.

The SSL-1 and the TLR-1 are virtually the same so any holster that accepts the TLR-1 it should accept the SSL-1 as well.
