EMOD milspec vs commercial

I'm now the owner of a M&P. My first AR was a RRA. I basically transfered my set up to the M&P. Including my commercial spec EMOD. The Chart specifies that the M&P retains a Milspec tube vs my RRA commercial tune. My question is besides the .03"in difference between the milspec extension tube and the commercial one what other differences are there? Is it a quality issue? The commercial EMOD fits the milspec and is not at all loose. Thanks for your input in advance, as always I learn something new everyday on this site.

Some commercial tubes are also slanted at the rear whereas i believe all milspec tubes are flat.

Someone correct me if i am wrong.
