I have a job offer in Craig, CO. Anyone have any info on the place?

It is near Steamboat Springs, so that's a bonus for my snowboarding ass:D

Been there many times but never lived there.
Others who live there can comment better than I can.
Fishing in the Yampa river and nearby lakes / streams.
Pronghorn, deer, elk hunting outside of town.

Seem to be a bit colder there in the winter than other parts of the state - but I am basing that on the televised weather reports from around the state.

Go man! If you like mountains and winter it is great!

If not then please turn us onto the job so one of us who do appreciate these things can apply!!! :D

Buckaroo (who would move back to Colorado in a heartbeat!)

Craig is a decent town, I have some friends that go hunting out that way and like the area. Steamboat is definitely a prettier place.

I've lived at 9,00 feet for 10 years now in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado; they'll bury me here to. God's country; I used to think Kentucky had mountains until I moved here. You won't regret it one bit.:D

Take the job, don't look back! I grew up in Colorado. I'd give a lot to get back and live in a mountain town. If the job looks secure--important in this economy, and the money is sufficent to live the life you'd like in the area, then there is no reason not to RUN to accept it.

Having said that, you do need to realize the crazies are taking over Denver and the front range cities. Stay in the mountains and all will be well.

Just my thoughts.

I grew up down the highway from there in Meeker. We used to go to Craig for shopping! Hunting and fishing is excellent in that area. I live in NE Oregon now, very similar climate, but If I got that chance, I would move back in a heartbeat.
