View Full Version : easy question; aftermarket bolt catch

Somewhere, probably on TOS, I saw a pic of an AR that had an aftermarket bolt catch with an enlarged "button" part. What made it interesting to me was that it appeared that the button part was widened fore and aft (i.e. parallel with the bore) so that it would be easier to press either by a lefty's trigger finger or by one's right hand reaching around the mag well.

I thought it would be easy to find the manufacturer's name by checking with online vendors, but I haven't seen it. Does this ring a bell with any of you?

thanks

I believe this is what your looking for

Alot of people, myself included, run them with Redi-mags so your bolt release clears the assembly and is easier to reach. Hope this helps.

That's not it, what I saw appeared to be a one-piece catch, not an add-on. The closest thing I've found is the Wilson Combat unit, but its button/pad area is squarish and high (longer lever arm).

Thanks for the heads-up, though; I wasn't aware of that item from Redi-Mag.

It might have been the one on this page, though I remember it differently;

(search for Item # WC525)

Now that I've seen that Armalite unit (thanks, RealFastV6) I wonder why everyone isn't finishing the bottom part that way.
