It's over-riding my ability to make use of the search tab.

None of the other ad banners do that.

The Vltor banner does it too...

I noticed that the other day, and intended to mention it. The animated VLTOR add at the top of the page right now does it, as well. So does the BravoCo ad (covers the quick links drop menu).

I am using Firefox 2.0, but it also does it in IE7.

I noticed that some time ago, as I usually browse by "new posts" from the search menu.

I forgot about the issue once I bookmarked https://www.m4carbine.net/search.php?do=getnew

On the front M4Carbine.net page, just under your avatar on the left side of the screen, there is a "New Posts" button that executes a search for all posts new since your last visit.

Sorry guys. For some reason the DHTML popup menus like to get layered behind the Flash banners.

There's a quicksearch box on the front M4C page. Alternatively, you could try refreshing the page to load different banners... or go directly to https://www.m4carbine.net/search.php

The DHTML menus can be disabled so that when you click "search" it goes directly to the search.php page... but then we lose the quicklinks, and it disables the quicksearch popup on the search button.

The New Posts link is also a great idea... once your caught up it keeps you on top of all the new action ;)

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with the problem. I use Mozilla so I thought maybe that was the issue.

The easiest way I've found around this is to hit the Refresh button or the F5 key (in IE). When the page refreshes, usually a different banner ad shows up and you can get to the search box again.
