I've got a complete (BCG and CH) post-ban Bushy A3 HBAR upper an acquaintance wants to buy and I'm having a hard time finding the current going price on something like this. It's got about 500 rounds through it. I just want to get an idea of how much this configuration is worth so I can give him a fair price.

$100-$120 for the BCG.

$15-$20 for the CH.

How about the rest of the upper - it's a complete upper - barrel, handguards, upper receiver. By the way, markm, did you see my question to you in Tactics and Training under the post what can a rifle class do for me?

Oh... sorry.

I misunderstood your question. I though you were just selling the two parts.

I'd browse the Equip Exchange on ARFcom to see what the complete upper halves are going for.

I've seen anything from $425 to over $600, but none were in the same configuration I have.

hifi,

In this market and especially on TOS you could list it for 600.00 and you just may get it. You might also just consider utilizing the power of negotiation and deciding on how much you are willing to take for it.Also take a good look and see what an upper like a BCM goes for.

Thanks for the input guys. I don't want bend the guy over as he's an aquaintance, but I also don't want to sell it for too much less than it's worth, as it is a complete A3 upper with BCG, CH, handguards and the detachable carry handle.

For a Post Ban A3 you could get $450.00 or so just for the upper. You can get $125-150.00 for the used BCG, $20.00 for the CH, and $75.00 for the Carry Handle if it is a name brand. If it is a no-name product adjust the price downward accordingly. It is a top tier brand adjust upward accordingly.;)

BigD, I'm not so sure about these prices, unless the buyer is clueless or desperate. This is a used Bushmaster upper, and the prices you mention are more like new BCM / LMT upper and BCG prices (assuming you could actually get them right now). The buyer may want it right now though, so a total price of $600.00 is not out of the question...

I had a used A-2 Bushmaster upper that I sold to a friend last December with the BCG and CH for $450.00. He was a friend and we both felt that was a fair price. he's still my friend and I was happy to be rid of the extra upper at the time to fund other projects.

Based on SEB5 comp. I would say that the A3 could bring $100 more, or $550. He also sold it to a friend, same situation.

I decided on a price of $500, which I felt was fair. He's seriously considering it so we'll see. If he doesn't want it, I'll just post it over on TOS for $600. Based on what I've seen over there recently, I think it would easily sell for that much.

I was going by the current market values as determined by internet sales of Bushmaster uppers.
You can add $100.00 for LMT/BCG.
The BCG's would sell for $125-175.00 used and $200-225.00 new if they were LMT/BCM/Colt and even LaRue Tactical.
$600.00 for what he has is a good price if he were selling.
$500.00 would assure that he didn't have to put up with "tire kickers".;)

hifiguy,

Where are you located??? I am in south central Texas along the coast.

I might be interested in buying it for the $500 you offered him. How long is the barrel and can you possibly post a picture of it.

My email is mdsmoose@yahoo.com

If you can catch them in stock, Bravo Co. USA new prices are:

LMT upper $485.00
BC BCG $130.00

Did I mention these are new?:D

Not every internet price asked for is the final selling price - though there is some bizarre crap going on lately.

I know what the new prices are "IF" they can be caught in stock.;)
The man asked about what the going price was for a used upper and I went from there.
Now the catching them in stock is the main thing here. Any and every place that I see them pop up at will sell out in an hour or so.
If you aren't sitting in front of the computer (24/7) when they do then you or out of luck.:(
I just saw 6 "I don't know the manufacturer" FA BCG's sell for $185.00 each.
You are right about the "final sell price" and there have been times when I have sold for less. This is because the person has good feedback so I don't have to worry about deadbeats.

What's really funny is that with all the dicking around and Chinese parliament going on here had it been listed already it would have already been sold.

Yeah (spit) well, like I said "clueless or desperate". There's all kinds of jackassery going on right now.

Good deals are still there for the smart and prepared. I just picked up a Daniel Defense M4 - with a sub 250 serial number - for $1499.00. The thought of spending nearly half that for a used Bushy upper just makes me sad.

We have been real short on the water falling this year. Big Sam is about 8' lower than normal pool level.:(
We are supposed to be in for some rain tomorrow hopefully.
I have seen several Colt uppers for sale in the $1050.-1100.00 range!

Again it all comes down to supply and demand. There is very little supply out there. I also just picked up a DD M4 but serial number is over 250. Is yours better than mine?

Considering that there may be someone who has a lower that needs an upper, and that 500-600.00 dollars is a far cry from the 1500.00 for a DD M4 it may not be a terrible deal for those who didn't plan ahead and are now panicking.

Just for everyone's info - the upper sold on TOS only 1.5 hours after listing it for $600. I received payment this AM. I was a little shocked it sold so fast.

It looks like I didn't miss it by much.:D
You could have asked a little more for it and you might have got it.;)
As long as you got what you wanted and the buyer got what he wanted then everyone is happy.

I recently sold a complete Bushy A2 upper with about 1800 rds on a Douglas SS Match barrel for $575. the BC was unshrouded and I have no idea how many rounds was on that as I got that from a fellow Highpower competitor but I'm guessing a lot. I priced this where I thought it would sell quickly and it did.

IMO, in this environment, anything less than $600 for a low round count complete upper, and you're doing your friend a favor.

ETA: I just saw you already sold it. on TOS. for $600...
