Just curious, and maybe its a dumb question. I was wondering when a person installs a set of free float rails on their AR, generally you do not take them off especially if the front sight has to be removed. So what does a person do when the rifle gets dirt, chunks of mud, or other debris under the rail.

The only idea I came up with is some compressed air and a lot of small pipe cleaners or dowels to break the crud up.

I apologize if its a dumb question but I was curious. Any info or ideas would be appreciated. No I did not dunk my rifle in mud.

Garden hose, and maybe some compressed air to dry.

I haven't gone hard core in a few years, but when my ARs used to get super dusty, I'd just hose them off to start.

Just paint the thing tan and you will never notice all the dust under there:D

I think he has Dirt Clods rattling around in there though! :D

(Might have to fill the whole area with JB Weld to prevent this.)

When I apply a little CLP to the barrel under the FF tube, I use a shotgun mop on a cleaning rod. If the barrel is dirty/dusty, you could do the same thing with a nylon brush to get the crud out.

Non chlorinated brake cleaner, maybe a light coat of Eezox sprayed on.

This is the very reason I don't have free float rails.

Because of cleaning? Are you serious? The brake cleaner works. These are meant to be hard use weapons and a little crud there won't hurt anything.
