Ok, maybe not completly about WalMart. I live in the semi-boonies of South Central PA and went to a local shop 2 weeks ago & saw a S&W M&P15X -it was love love at first sight (pun intended). Another little shop had an Eotech that looked like it was made for the M&P (so what's a few more $$ when you are having fun).
Now the WalMart side; went to my local WM yesterday & of course they didn't have any .223 but guy says they should get it today. Stop in today & they had mucho many boxes of Federal 100/$39.95. Now I am now complete!

that is good in the shape of things the wally world by me has had nothing on their shelves for a while don't forget to make your next few post pictures of that new set up you got and a range report welcome to M4C :D

Funny thing about our local Walmarts...they rarely have any handgun ammo on the shelves (unless your timing is perfect and you are there when they are restocking!). What they do have is lots of rifle ammo...including quite a bit of .223. :confused:

Our local Walmart hasn't had any quantities of ammo for months now. You go in and they might have 3 or 4 boxes and the next time they won't have any at all.
The only time I have found any ammo there lately was a couple weeks ago andit was only 7 boxes of Remmy .45 ACP 230 gr. and when I left they had 0 boxes left.;)

The best thing to do is befriend the guy working sporting goods. A friend and I visit one store weekly for ammo (mainly .22 because that's all they usually have). We always ask what they are expecting and when. After a few times he asked me to leave a number. Sure enough Tues evening I get a call they have 2k of 9mm Blazer Brass for $7 more than if I ordered BrownBear from Aimsurplus. Well about 20mins later I walked out with 2k of 9mm!

It pays to be friendly with those guys.

I wish the walmarts here had Federal at the price he got. That's $8 per 20. :(

walmarts around here has the 100 rd value pcks for 39. lots of ammo, both rifle and pistol.

What kind of Federal is it? American Eagle? I don't think I've ever seen a 100 round pack here.

Its not the American Eagle black or red box. Its just Federal 100 Value Pack. 55g fmj. Its good stuff, Ive been shooting it for awhile without any problems.

I've been buying a box every payday for the past two months at Walmart. This is good quality Federal ammo, not the low end stuff and sells for $39.95 per 100. A few more weeks and I'll have 1000 rounds on hand! :D

I went into our Walmart. I saw four boxes of .223. Two were 45 gr jhp for about $15 each. Two were 55 gr. psp for about $17.00 each.

My local Wal-Mart actually had the Federal 55gr in 200rd boxes (appearing similar to the 100rd) for ~$75. Probably should have bought some, but the rifle won't be here for a while yet.
