Future destruction of 2nd Amendment

I hear people boast about how they would not surrender their weapons to the goverment if there was a gun ban in the USA. In reality, I wonder how many Americans would actually stand up and say NO! With the threat of becoming a felon, going to prison or even losing your life. It would truly be exactly the same situation as the founding fathers found themselves in against the British. I am worried that too many Americans won't see that without the 2nd Amendment the whole Constitution is undefendable!
