Is your DD Omega standing the test of time?

I know threads on this rail system have been beat to death, so please bear with me...

I'm trying to decide on a rail system for my 6920. I've been leaning towards DD's Omega rail, but my concern is it's stability over time (being a 2 piece system.)

Now that this system has been out for some time now, how are they holding up? Has periodic retightening of the screws been required? How do they stand up to "abuse" seen in carbine courses or even overseas?

My 7" Omega has held up fine and I haven't had to retighten the screws. It has been on my carbines for about a year and remains rock solid. The carbine gets near weekly use but I wouldn't call it hard use or abuse.

I just installed one 2 days ago, so I'm very interested in what folks have to say.

I don't think the 4 side screws will be a problem, rather the 4 hex screws that tighten against the barrel nut look like the weak link.

It seems like a very nice unit. I hope to tweak a bit more accuracy out of my SUC. Time will tell.

I've had mine for about 2 months, and so far, so good. Really like it. I do agree with the previous comments about the four set screws against the barrel nut being the weak link.

I have had one for over a year now. Used and abused on a daily basis. No problems at all. Never had to worry about the screws. What I love about it is how small it is.

I have an Omega on several Carbines without a problem and have installed over a dozen on others builds and have had no problems from any. I however and it is prob not needed use extra locktite on the screws that go into the barrel nut.

I have had a 7" Omega since the end of summer 2008 and its worked great so far.

My actual barrel nut came loose with the Omega on it but that may or may not have been related to the rail. DD retighted it for me and not its running well and its rock solid.

Mine's been fine over maybe 3K rounds.

I've had one since before they went public, there are roughly 3k through it on one weapon, and another Omega rail that has 2k through it on another carbine.

I put 5k rounds through mine on several high speed courses and various other plinking, range work etc. My DD OMEGA has proven totaly reliable. I think its the best free float rail system ever made bar none.

I have an Omega rail on a 14.5" carbine and 2 of the 12.0 Lite rails also.
All three have been 100% rock solid.

DD makes good stuff.
