I was working on a demo upper and was using the Daniel Defense one position QR sling adapter end plate on the lower (single push button quick release sling position under the buffer tube and in line with it) and based on a picture Stick had posted decided to make a "poor man's ASAP."

Since I already had the end plate on the lower with a Vickers sling, I took a Mash hook sling adapter, added the quick release kit to the sling, and attached the mash hook to the push button QR sling loop. I get side to side travel like what the ASAP appears to give you and weak side transitions work pretty well...

i've been running that QD mount for awhile too seems to work good. just be aware of the size of the clasp/latch that you attach to it, if it's too big, or the QD loop is small, the sling can actually depress the QD button.

I do the same, using TangoDown PR-4 and QD swivel.
