I bought a 6920 today. 1600.00 and some change. Little more than I wanted to spend but with all the rifles going for 200 to 400 more on GB I thought I did not do too bad. I know there are many of you out there that think I spent too much, but there's the supply and demand factor. I don't think it will loose any money a least in the near future.

Has anyone installed Ameriglo AR250 tritium night sights on there's? Or any other night sights? I'm not considering radically changing the rifle but tritium sight I think would make it a better all around rifle IMO. Thoughts? Thanks.

Congratz :D

I'd go with a light instead of night sights on an AR.
With a light you can ID your target and see your sights.

Shouldn't your thread have been titled: "Took the 6920 Bath"?

Sorry couldn't resist. Congrats! :D

Took a bath maybe? I look at it this way, from what I have read in the last 4 months I have been researching purchasing an AR the Colt 6920 dollar for dollar is the best AR money can buy. Best parts, best quality control and one of the most important factors its made here in the United States of America. You get what you pay for!! Thanks for the comments so far guys and gals.

Chuckle,

You just paid $600 for a pony rollmark. Nice weapons, but dollar for dollar , not even close.

That's a decent post-election price, congratulations on your choice. For me 6920s are about weapons value, not monetary value.

they are kinda useless on an AR.
a light or a reddot optic are better, save up for one of those.

I also was unable to resist purchasing one today. I was shocked the see them in stock in the first place, and was even more shocked at the price. Nice to know there are still some good guys out there in the AR world that don't gouge.

I would rather not give away my location. I picked it up for $1249+tax. I believe that's a very fair price even before the Obama madness.

I was considering an EOTech 557 .AR223. Are then good quality sights?

You made a great choice. $1600 isn't too bad, and a better than what many are asking for a 6920 now days.

Maybe a LMT lower and upper bought separate and put together yourself would get you a quality AR for under 1k, but good luck trying to find the parts you need in stock.

Ya, but i feel like a fool getting rid of my LMT'S to just turn around and buy Colt's.But i just got it into my head to just get out of the AK game and just stick with AR-15's so i was going to get my LMT'S back and my dealer sold ALL of them that day.. so i just bought some Colts.;):D:cool:

I installed a Tritium front sight post, and it was a waste of $50 IMO. Congrats on the new rifle, I saw a 6920 for $2500 at the gun shop I hang out at. As far as someone saying that you paid just for a roll mark is a little ignorant. From my personal experience it seems like when people say oh your just buying the name those people have little to no experience with said weapon brand or they just can't afford it and they are haters haha.

Enjoy your purchase. :)

Congrats on your purchase. You paid a fair price in this climate, and you can't go wrong buying a Colt. I love my 6721, never had any problems with it. You can rest assured that all the parts inside are top notch and you rarely, if ever hear about stuff like improperly staked gas keys. The same can't be said about some of the other popular "factory" AR guns with other animals and snakes in their rollmarks....
