Hello all

I have a Young MFG Flash Hider and cant find any specs on it (Came with the rifle). I had to remove it to do some swapping out and can not find if it requires indexing or torque specs. Im thinking it does not require indexing and I should be fine with a new crush washer and elbow grease to tighten it until I get the washer to crush down. Any help would be appreciated.

Here is a pic of the FH for reference.

Edit: Ok I see the difference now. It dont have the twist like the Vortex. Standby

EDIT 2: Here is a link, and the member says he used a crush washer. SO It woulden't be a bad idea. Since it dont have the twist like the vortex, Im not sure if it will self tighten by firing the weapon system.

Thanks for the link. I must have been searching using the wrong words. Anywho, I did some more reading and it seems that these FH's get confused with vortex FH's and that may be a part of why Im having issues finding info on them. It does seem from what Iv found that a crush washer and no indexing is the norm. Since this is based on the original LaFrance design from the 80s I cant imagine that its too dependent on placement.

It does not need to be indexed for sure. As far as the crush washer, I would use one. The Vortex has a slight twist, thus it tightens as the gun is shot, and the gases come out.

This was a new one on me, and I thought it was a vortex until I looked at it close. Its really, really, close.
