Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with the Surefire M83 4-rail forend for AKs? I heard they're discontinued, and weren't able to find any reviews on it.

One guy from another forum said that they're not solid enough to mount optics on. True/False?

I will mount this on my Romanian WASR 10/63

Thanks

Short answer: it sucks, don't get it.

Long answer: the tension screws only go on one side so the more you tighten the more angled (fore/aft) the rail will be causing the forward portion to raise up and block out your front sight. That and it still shot loose despite using blue loctite. Bulky and adds weight to the muzzle end.

I tried it on an AK during a 3 day carbine class with Pat Rogers and finished the class shooting my irons.

YMMV
