So I buy this 2nd Gen G17 police trade in with dim trijicons online sight unseen. Get the call and go pick it up from my FFL yesterday....Well the trijicons are dim (would have replaced them anyway with Heinie's or Warren's) but I get a 3rd Gen and not a 2nd (which is what I prefer anyway):D

It has a 2 pin frame...didn't know 3rd Gen's came that way. Mine has 3...

I didn't even notice it...just snapped the pics because the camera was out and haven't really had much of a chance to even fondle the G17 yet...interesting...I didn't/don't think any 2nd gen guns had the finger groves or the light rail. The serial # has an EEL prefix.

Mine has an ELK prefix, it has two pins as well. From what I understand, the 2 pins only occurred on 9mm.

I have a G19 with 2 pins.

They went to 3 pins for all the other glocks and to keep costs low they used the same mold for the rest. At least that is what I have been told.

Some have asked for info on the Police Trade in I got so here it is for all.

$379 delivered add $4 for insurance
Got a 2nd one in yesterday. I was not as lucky with that as it is a 2nd Gen gun without the light rail (I like the light rail, hate the finger grooves on the 3rd Gen).
Will post pics of the 2nd when I have time.

I did also ordered 5 G17 mags with this last order. $22 a piece

The mags are new and they are the latest gen mags I believe as they have the cut for the new mag release (like the G19/21 SF models).
