If The Onion had done this I wouldn't have thought it was funny because it's too f-ing ridiculous.

Those black cars are too hot I say! Is this seriously being considered there, or is this just one of those bills that somebody introduces so he can say he's "green?"

 @ "progressives". They should be known as regressive.

Black is the absence of reflected light, while white is the presence of all spectrums. So a black car actually cools the immediate area it occupies.

Based the physics involved, I would say they don't understand what they are doing.

That explains 90% of the environmental movement. Nobody wants polluted water/air/deforestation and so forth, but they've gotten absurd.

Its the People's Republic of Kalifornia. This will become law, without a doubt.

SWEET! We need MORE over the top legislation like this! Why? Cause stupidity like this is the kind that will wake up more of the zombies in the nation and even cause them to say "ENOUGH!!!"

Nobody wants polluted water/air/deforestation - yeah, and that's what we call conservation.

Environmentalism is a whole different animal; it's sort of a tossup as to the breakdown between:

"useful idiots who support the environment because they like fluffy bunnies"

"kooks who don't know what the **** they're talking about but want to tell you what to do"

"kooks who know damn well what they're talking about but are lying their asses off to further some other cause like socialism - and generally want to tell you what to do"

Make no mistake about it, a lot of the larger scale environmentalist policy proposals are merely schemes to redistribute money, destroy/reshape existing industries, and to have their grubby hands on the flow of money and power while doing so. This phenomenon has picked up quite a bit since the fall of the USSR.

Example I ran across this AM:

How do you classify these folks?

Only in California. If it passes, I bet Al Gore will still leave the lights on during Earth Hour, thus negating any gains from such a plot.
