I've never seen a casing get stuck and the back ripped off but what is the proper use of this item should I ever need to use it:confused:

If the shell extractor doesn't work for you another method is available.I've never had much luck with shell extractors and use the CERROSAFE method exclusively now.I use a piece of 5mm drill rod to punch out the chamber casting and offending brass case.
