I just got off the phone with Karen @ Colt customer service and she stated that all new 6920's are shipping with .154 pins as of " a couple of weeks ago".
When I asked her for a seriel number cut off, so I could be sure to have my dealer order me one that has .154 pins, she didn't have that information, and apparently could not obtain it?
I didn't feel like getting into a discussion further with her about it, as I waited 20 minutes just to speak with someone.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could obtain that information for me before I order the 6920.
Thank you, Terry.

I don't understand why that information would be difficult to obtain?
My dealer is a nice guy, but I doubt he knows the difference, and I don't have the means to check.
Well, I will figure it out somehow.
Thank you, Terry.

My thoughts are that these things aren't sitting on anyone's shelf or in any warehouse for very long at all. The chances of you getting one with the old pins, I feel, are slim. My bet is that if you can find a new one anywhere in stock, you're safe. However, if you buy from some guy selling his NIB on a forum, then all bets are off.

I agree that if Colt cannot tell you, no one really can.

I've seen four 6920s show up at local shops in the past three weeks, all with the smaller pins. The oldest serial # was LE0544XX. I picked up one with LE0546XX with .154 pins. So if the serial numbers are higher than that you should be safe.

With my luck, If I just order it blind, I'd get the last one with big pins.

I called and spoke with Code 4 (firearms dealer) and they said of their new 6920s that they just got in stock, the pins are still .170. He said they pushed a pin slightly out and measured it with some calipers. I want to find one with the .155 pins as I want to change up the trigger. Anyone have any ideas? Looks like I will need to call Colt. Thanks.

Sounds like Colt finally got a clue and is producing enough guns to meet demand!

Gee! They can make money doing this!

I ordered a 6920 on monday from SGCUSA.com, and received an email from Mr Goss about the FCG pins. He said the 6920's are coming with .170 pins, I will have to double check to make sure what size the pins are in my incoming rifle...

I have one on layaway at my local gunstore with the .154 pins and the sn was LE0563xx. I compared it to my first 6920 to make sure.

So the LE0563XX has the .154 pins? Talked with Steve at ADCO and he said their new LE057XXX models do indeed have the .154 pins. Conflicting info from many sources?!

It's my second too, my first being a CD M4LE, and I want as much compatibility as possible.
Like I said, I'll figure it out.
Thanks for the help.
Terry.

The main reasons I decided to go ahead and get this one was the price and the pin size.

Recently picked up two new 6920s and both definitely have 0.154 inch diameter hammer and trigger pins.

This is a good move on Colt's part.

Josh can you tell us the first two digit's so we can use it as reference? Hopefully mine will have the .154 pins as well.

Just picked up another Colt LE6920 from Ohio today and guess what? It has the .155 pins. Had the store pull out the micrometer and measure the pins in front of me just to confirm what my eyes saw. Yes - .155 FCG pins on a Colt LE6920. The gun was delivered to the dealer 4-13-09. Serial begins LE0571XX. Best of luck,

Well sir a high five to you

Just checked and measured my 6920 from SGCUSA and it was .154 pins. The serial begins with 56.

I am about to pick-up a 6920 this week. Can you guys tell me why it is better to go with a rifle with the larger pins? Is there a big difference between the two sizes?

.154 pins aka .155 pins are readily available from many manufacturers whereas the Colt .170 pins are only made by Colt (to the best of my knowledge) so by having a receiver with .155 diameter holes you can use a wider variety of LPK's.

I found one in stock from a local dealer...the serial# is LEO540xx. What are my chances that it will come with the .154 pins? Anyone have one with a serial number close to that which also came with the smaller pins? I also called Colt and the woman on the phone stated that they started shipping 6920's with the .154 pins, "a month or two ago."
