Without a doubt the 6-9 Swivel and notched legs. It is perfect for bench shooting and even all the way retracted, it I can still use a 30 round magazine. Plus I still have the option of extending the legs, which I never had to.

I would definatly buy a Harris bipod and what ever you buy make sure it swivels. I would also recomend one of the Pod-Locs for your bipod if you go with a Harris bipod.

I would have to agree with what has already been said. You cannot beat the Harris bi-pods, get the swivel type, in 6-9 inches. It's what I use on my Savage 10FP tactical rifle and I have no complaints.

I have no experience with the Pod-Loc or LaRue mount as of yet, but I will be going that route when I throw together my precision AR. They are both highly reguarded pieces of equipment.

What about the Tango Down bipod, the ACB-4?

I carry mine in the soft case, rather than on the wpn due to the role, but it is purpose built and quite solid in my experience.

They are OK. I had one and it was pretty neat, but it was a little too tall for me and they are pretty slow to deploy. And the worst thing about it is that you are limited by what kind of weaponlight you use and a foregrip is a must, which I don't really use that often. I actually prefer the Grip Pod to the Tangodown Bipod.

Will the 6-9" model clear a 30-round mag while shooting at an incline or should I go for the 9-13" model?

I think the 6-9 would be perfect for that purpose, just make sure you get the swiveling type, a bit more expensive, but a must have addition!

I shoot mine on the 6" position all the time using the 30 round magazines and have no problem with elevation. Plus if you really need to elevate the rifle just push the buttons on the leg notches and it will automatically extends to 9".

Just out of curiosity, are you in the Military? if you are, you may want to consider the Grip-Pod.

I tried the gripod and didn't like it. It was too long and not stable enough for my liking. The metal one was too heavy and the polymer one was too flimsy for my liking. I think it was a good concept but I would only use it on the SAW.

If you want, when I get home tonight, I can take a picture of my AR with a 30 round magazine to show the incline. I have it mounted on a Larue Mount so it does raise it up a littl, but most mounts will raise it up some.

Thanks paulo, this really helps. I guess with the added height of the LaRue mount I should be ok.
