View Full Version : Vickers Tactical 1911 Operators Class ( July 7-8, 2007 ):
Let me guess. This class is going to have the same strict rules as the AK class. I can't believe you actually have to HAVE an AK to take that class.:p
:D
We do need to set up at least one advanced Pistol & Carbine class in 2007 so we can all can get together.
I would like to welcome the following guys into the 1911 class:
(7.) Ron F.
(8.) John P.
(9.) Andy M.

When you get a chance, please send me some idea of the class location. It will help me figure out wich family member to impose on when I drive down on the 6th.. :)
Thanks...you have my real e-mail.

Hi All - First Post
I've signed up for the LV Tactical Op. Class. I'll be traveling to the class from NH and would prefer to fly rather than drive the 11+ hours. No problem traveling with a couple of pistols. However, traveling with a case of .45ACP Ball does present a logistics issue. 11 lb. ammo limit, for air transport. I have a good stockpile of .45 ammo at home and don't know if I'll be able to find a convienent outlet in the South Hill Area. Any volunteers in the VA area who would agree to let me ship them a case of ammo ;) , (hold onto it) :p and then bring it out to the range:confused: Other ideas are welcome.
Anyone else planning to fly in?

Please contact me if interested.
Bumping to top so I can track it better. :p
FYI - At the moment this class is full, but I'm still taking names for a stand-by list. More than likely we will have at least one seat open up.
Just contact me if interested.

Gents
Just got back in the USA- this class is right around the corner and it would not hurt if each student brought some tools for detailed assembly and disassembly on Sunday AM - the highlight of this course is this portion where I also discuss in detail trouble shooting and suggested modifications - I will bring some hand tools and most everyone gets some gunsmithing by me on their blaster
This will consume the AM of the second day of class and is definately the high point of the course - so a suitable screwdriverfor grip screws, punch, shop rag, bushing wrench, gun oil and cleaning equipment would be helpful - feel free to bring anything else you want
See ya there

EXCELLENT! I wish I hadn't just gotten rid of my beater 1911 now.
I vote that we all practice on Tom's gun. :D

How many rounds do we need to bring?
How many rounds do we need to bring?
The class description says 800 rounds but I’m going just throw a 1,000 round case into the truck.
I guess that means that you are a go for the class?
FYI - The class start time is 8:30 AM.
If anybody needs the directions to range sent to them again please contact me.
Other than that, everybody is good-to-go.

Does anyone coming to the class have an AAC M4-1000, M4-2000, or a Gemtech Halo I could take a look at? Thanks
I can bring out a SureFire 556K can if that helps...
Guys, the weather has been pleasant here over the last week. It's been in the mid-80s with a nice breeze. You won't be doing any kneeling so feel free to wear shorts if it helps you keep cool. It's also been extremely dry so it's dusty on the range. Just FYI.
Bring a lawn chair if you can. Bring plenty of liquids to hydrate with too.
The classroom portion of the class will be held at the local PD on Sunday. Ideally, bring a pistol case so that you can discreetly bring your pistol to the classroom without geting funny looks.

Oh great. Now Chris has the go ahead to wear his tactical chaps and hang brain all day.

I'm going to be sick.
I have never been able to completely erase that horrible memory of Chris shooting almost a whole day in his "tactical chaps".

That would be cool.
I'll be bringing a GAP built 700VS with an older M4-2000 on it. I'm hoping to grab a quick 100yd zero in the lunch break or something.
Did I hear someone mention "Chapticals"?:D
