Interesting. Don't know how significant it is, though:

Sounds dang promising!

It would be nice if the 2A became a non-issue with both parties...something that is looked at as a past subject of difference.

Maybe there is some hope left in the world.... thank you for the sparkle of hope!

sounds like they are putting it off to a later date.....like when they have finished up with all the other socialist plans on their list.

half of the dem party is chomping at the bit for this, the other half knows the time is not right........but will be eventually.

The 2A is a crucial difference between th epolitical beliefs in the US. The Statist Left does not want the average citizen to have the power to challenge the status quo.

The Right greets it as a re-affirmation of the fact that government is derived from the people.

The only way that I see it becoming a non-issue between the parties is for the Republicans to continue their march Leftward and so making the 2A a target for both.

i disagree.

there are certainly a few key democrats who are, unfortunately, near and at the top of the party heirarchy who are chomping at the bit for it. and there are certainly others in that position who know the time is not right, but would like it to be.

however, when you get into the rank and file of the democrat party, there are quite a few who are actually pro-gun. there are quite a few more who maybe aren't actively pro-gun, but also are not anti-gun and are not just waiting for the time to be right.

imho, it would very much behoove us, as gun owners, to recognize this and stop trying to make it such a polarizing issue. if we don't, and we just continute to always demonize all democrats, we will push those who don't really lean one way or the other on the issue into the anti-camp. we do not want to do that.

there absolutely are pro-gun democrats...many of them. rural PA--and even the pittsburgh area--for example, is full of them. and, fortunately, the house of representatives has plenty of them as well.

I'd say watch their hands. What are they really up to with that hand behind their back. I wouldn't trust those people any further than I could throw a 500 pound Pelosi.

This is the real deal:

Another very strong indicator that we are winning.
There is a very solid 60 to 65 % gun friendly majority in Congress.
The hard core gun-grabbers still want our guns , that hasn't changed. They just don't have the votes in Congress or the public support to push any significant gun-grabber bills through Congress. It's not 1994 anymore. Now it's our turn.
Pay-back time.

The way I see it.... if not for the NRA and an active group of followers behund the NRA, things may not be allowing such a rosey outlook right now.

Kudos to the NRA and those that reacted quickly with the emails, letters, and phone calls.

After Holder mentioned the ban, the National Rifle Association sent out action alerts to its members and bombarded Hill offices with calls. Sixty-five House Dems dashed off a letter to Holder opposing such a ban, while Speaker Nancy Pelosi—echoing the NRA's mantra on all gun-control issues—said she backed "enforcing the laws we have now."

Public pressure works:

It's all about the squeaking wheel.

Of course, now is not the time to be complacent.

We still need to make sure those middle of the roaders in Congress know that we are Vigilant
