Can anyone confirm that these barrel markings would indicate that this item is Colt, as the owner states?

Depends...lots of pretty shot-out M4 barrels and A2 retrofits out there at gun shows. Need more info - all Colt, slapped together, NIW, etc.

Indeed. I'd want to measure the throat and check the headspace on a barrel that looked that rough. Not that an emaculate barrel hasn't been shot to hell by someone either.

This is all the info I got on it:

Here is an AR-15 complete Upper assembly. It has a 16 inch barrel in 5.56mm, permanently attached bird-cage flash hider and non-removable carry handle. It comes with a complete bolt carier group but no charging handle (but those aren't too hard to locate).

I don't need it, can't afford it (since I just got a BCM upper thanks to Rider79), so here's the link if anyone wants more info:

You're good to go.

That upper is fine. One way you can tell is by the CH hook notch. It's not even rounded. And the inside of that upper receiver is in great shape.
