New Build Dilemma

I picked up a BCM M4 upper yesterday and I am looking at pairing it with a G&R CDD custom lower. By the time I am done with transfer, taxes, and shipping, I will be into this about $1220 for a complete rifle. Is this rifle worth this today? In this economy and my profession (contractor), it is important that if something comes up that I can liquidate this and get what I have into it back out. I am concerned that people outside of this forum may not recognize the value of the parts. Thanks for any feedback.

If (God forbid) the day comes that you have to liquidate your rifle, I'm certain that you won't have to look much farther than the members on this forum to find a good home for it, and also get treated fairly.

Only if you sold it here or over on TOS. Take it to a gun shop and see what they are willing to give you. Most are unaware that anything other then Colt, BM, RRA and S&W even exist.
