Ok guys & gals-what 'ya think of this: my local shop has a (new) Sig P239 .40 with crimson trace sights. He is willing to take my 1991 A1 Colt Series 80 matt stainless steel, BoMar sights, Rosewood double diamond grips and adjustable trigger in trade. All work was done at the Colt custom shop. My Colt is in excellent condition. He would trade me even-up for the gun but I would have to buy the Crimson trace sights ($239). Yes I would be more inclined to use the Sig then my Colt but I already have an M&P 9mm. Guess there is nothing wrong with having both for concealed carry & general defense.
Do you think it's a fair trade-in for my Colt ($779)? I really can't find current pricing on it.

No way trade that quality customized 1911. Even if this trade in made you happy this year, rest assured, the 1911 will haunt you in the future and you'll regret it. And eventually be trying to swing another comparable.

Yeah, I bet he is :rolleyes:.

While I consider the 239 to be a decent gun, the value of the trade items are not equal.

The guy has a set the size of a Masterdon to actually tell you to pay for the CT laser as the offer WITH the lasers is a joke......Do not let that Custom Shop Colt go to this con artist. If you want to get fair sale value sell it privately on Gunbroker or a similar site, but don't be taken in by gun dealers with their one sided trades.....especially with a Colt.
