Does anyone have experience with these lowers? Apparently they are an aerospace manufacturer in Montana. The lowers are supposedly machined from billet aluminum. There is a video on the website showing the manufacturing process.

I've seen a few floating around on GB. My guess is they are just another rollmark, nothing special. I am in the market for another lower though. I am trying to find something I like. I will probably just default to Spike's if nothing else tickles my fancy.

I believe they also offer standard forged lowers as well but i may be wrong.

You may want to take a look at Kaiser Defense. I bought three of their lowers after the election and was very pleased. I've only built one, but it went together without a hitch and matches the finish on my BCM upper perfectly.

They make/made them for Spike's. I just liked them because they have business-like rollmarks (don't say "tactical" or have animals on them).

They are plain black anodized with no colorfill, unlike the pics on the website.

Great lowers. I have had two of the billet lowers in my hands. Pam at Sonju will do custom logos and markings. I have two lowers on order with no logo, marked M16A2-S, caliber marked 5.56x45mm.

I know the Sonjus and their families, they're pretty decent people. I don't have any knowledge of their lowers, that's a fairly recent thing, but I can tell you I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them.

My Sonju experience (happy ending).

I got 3 of the Sonju Defence billet receivers. I believe it was in 2009. They look nice. I did not do anything with them until a few weeks ago.

There was a problem: the mag wells were so tight that mags had to be inserted with great force and most mags would not go in at all or were so hard to put in that it would take 20-30 seconds to force it in. Getting them out was even harder.

So I emailed Sonju. They instructed me to send them back and let them know how much it was to send them so they could reimburse my shipping costs.

So I sent them back. They acknowledged receipt, a few days later said they were reworked, but that the anodizing machine was undergoing maintenance and it could be a week before they were refinished. 2 days ago I got notice they were done and shipping. Today I received the receivers. All mags easily are inserted and drop free (most troublesome before had been PRI old and new waffle 6.8 and barrett 6.8 mags and they drop free just fine now).

The refinish job was excellent. So all is well that ends well and the receivers are quite nice looking.

And they also included a check for the amount it cost me to send the 3 back to them.
