I actually canceled my order today. After some thought, I'm going to stick with my M&P15 order (well, back order). I'm on a budget and the extra stuff I would need to buy would put me over my limit.

I'd like to know how it shoots so please follo-up and post a pic when it comes in!

That seems like quite a narrow view. While I dont own a CMMG Iv talked to many who have never had an issue with them.

I think he might have been referring to the fact that their QC has been spotty in the past. I have a friend with a CMMG piston gun and will have to give him call and see how it's holding up.

That's the problem with CMMG...you never know.

If they were more consistent with their QC, they'd be much more popular, IMO. I bought two of their 20" Gov't profile barrels a couple of years ago. One is a phenomenal shooter and I'm very happy with it. The other barrel was problematic with every type of ammo I tried. After getting the run-around from CMMG for a few weeks, I finally took it to a local gunsmith and a chamber cast showed that it was on the tight side of .223...a far cry from the 5.56 that was stamped on the barrel. I had it reamed to the proper dimensions and it's great now, although the chamber is no longer chrome-lined...which is rather annoying.

It's hard to recommend them when their quality control and customer service varies from great to piss poor on a day-to-day basis.
