This started as a crappy Chinese underfolder which I sent to Marshall Arms.

This is what it looked like before I sent it:

This is after (Click for larger images):

Note that he had to weld over the under-folder holes in the receiver, then repattern the receiver, and caliber convert it from 7.62 to 5.45. Lots of other details that make the transformation very detailed, such as proper Cyrillic markings and date codes.

It looks beautiful but why didn't you just buy a SLR-105?

That is a beautiful rifle, but I must admit I wonder why you chose to go that route?

p.s. then again, when you originally sent it in the SLR-105 may not have even been available

p.p.s. Ted usually takes a little over 2 years for a complete build.

This is a transferable full auto. All I had was an underfolder to work from.

Well I did post it in the NFA section, and you can see it on the selector lever.

Why 5.45 conversion though?

I was building a set:

AKS-74U
AK-47
AK-105
AK-74.

This one is the AK-74. All AK-74s are 5.45.

Holy Shite!

That would certainly explain it :D

And here I was going to move it out of the NFA forum and into the Other Assault Rifle forum. Glad I didn't. OH and it looks beautiful!
