For the last two roadtrips, I have been bringing my TRS with me. Not only do I feel safe for my family, but also good tool to have when travel out of town.

Please do share what firearm is accompany you when travel?

I never travel with a firearm.

I travel with the same firearm that I carry off duty. The only difference is I might add a few extra magazines.

For a long time, it was a Glock 19. Currently, it would be an M&P 9mm.

If going by auto, depending on the destination, I might add a long gun. Either an AR15, or, if going into the Mountains, I might go for a 870 with a mix of OO buck and some slugs (buck for two legged issues, slug for four legged issues).

If going on vacation, I try to avoid spots with a higher threat level than where I live. Kind of defeats the purpose of going on vacation.

except for the rare times when my final destination is a state where i cannot legally carry, i always have a glock 17 with me.

often, i also have an AR-15.

i have been known to go out of my way to go around states that will not allow me carry.

I don't. I'll blast right in/through any state. I just make sure to go the speed limit and toe the line while I'm there.

My usual travel gun is my Kahr MK9, along with 2 spare magazines:

My G17+TLR1 rides in my center console with 2 extra magazines. My carry gun is usually a S&W Lightweight .357 revolver. If I'm going to be staying overnight in a hotel, I'll usually carry the 870 into the room.

Last year I drove from AZ to PA and back. I went through a few states that did not allow CCW or that did not recognize my permit. I did my best to not have run-ins with the law.

On that trip I had a 220 Carry, on the trip before that (AZ-WV-AZ) I had a G19.

When I travel to CA I carry G19-size and smaller weapons.

Always have an AR in the truck.

A good firearm with hollowpoint ammunition, knife, and a flashlight is good enough for me :D

Glock G17, G19, or G21 (pretty much in that order of preference/actuality) in most of my trips.

Best, Jon

Glock 19, spare mag and a 6PLED. On long trips I'll usually take a spare box of carry ammo just in case.

A G23 with 2 spare mags, which is also my normal CCW. If I'm feeling fancy, it's the Kimber in my Milt Sparks holster with 3 spare mags

I also take with me a few copies of the FOPA federal safe passage law in case I run into a gun-unfriendly LEO while I'm passing through a gun-unfriendly state: (http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/18/usc_sec_18_00000926---A000-.html)

Endeavor to ensure that LE is entirely unaware of your carriage of arms. Problem avoided.

During the last road trip - Glock 26. I went to California and this is the only 9mm pistol I own that has 10 round magazines.
