I just saw that they might be? Anyone know anything about this? Pics?
I believe it is going to be a Remington-Rand WWII reproduction of some sort. This came from a fairly reliable industry insider type.
I thought that Remington-Rand was a typewriter company.
I remember my aunt had an old Remington-Rand. It shot off letters, not bullets.:D

I should clarify. My source said Remington was coming out with a 1911. I ASSumed it would be a Remington-Rand reproduction, but not being a WWII 1911 expert I am getting a little far afield.
Remington Rand and the Remington weapons company have zero to do with each other so it would be weird if they came out with a repro.

Do just an eensy, tiny bit of Googling.
Could be a Remington-UMC WWI reproduction.

Reminngton Rand 1911 (http://www.davismilitaria.com/Remington%20Rand%201911-A1.htm)

It would be cool if Remington Arms would start building old-fashoned typewriters.
Do you think it would sell as well as their 105 CTi II?

Or they could make electric razors
IIRC Remington Rand made more 1911a1's then Colt. I sold mine a few years ago.

So I guess no one really has any info on this?
The market needs another 1911 that works most of the time?:p

I wouldn't mind a Remington 1911 if they didn't goof it with external extractors (S&W) or try to style it like it was something else ( SIGs). They should just make some nice XSE/Kimber/Springfield loaded style pistols. There always seems to be room for 1911s.

If they made it with an intergal plunger tube + lower/better external extractor design, I'll bite.
Too many proven 1911 makers out there right now to justify trying something new.
I noticed that Double Star is coming out with them too...

I'm waiting for the Singer Sewing Machine Co. to make another 1911. THAT would be interesting!
