Bohica Arms is coming to market with some new billet lowers in the coming months. I wanted to show some pictures and see what you guys think. Good, bad? Ugly, nice looking? Anything specific you think could be improved?

The lowers look great. But I guess I am to much of a "fashion whore" I don't think I could have one with that donkey/cow/whatever on it. =\

you could start by adding a magwell to the bottom lower.

J/K.

are they going to start selling complete .50's now with the new mag-less lower?

I'd probably pass on the donkey also.

for the selector image instead of an uncaptured round for "fire" you should put a plane spiraling downward with smoke.

Because we all know that is what .50's are used for.....

Not to worry guys, the lowers will be available with or without the donkey! ;)

There is currently no ETA for the finished rifles. It is merely an idea at this point.

Both lowers are currently up for sale at $160 for the semi-auto and $290 for the steel single-shot lower.

I don't understand your post. You don't like the design of the trigger guard?

It looks a lot like the Magpul trigger guard. There was an issue some months back with another company that made a great billet lower, and got a lot of feedback wondering how they felt about plagiarizing Magpul's design, and they changed it right away in an effort to not wade into that pool. I don't think Magpul is out for blood on these types of things, I don't know, but they changed it because it was the right thing to do, and it DID look just like Magpul's.

the semi lower looks awesome! I'd defiantly buy one w/o the ass on it ;)

I see your point. Bohica Arms has a habbit of delivering unique and innovative designs, so while it might bear a slight resemblence on the single shot lower, I don't think it looks anything like magpul's design on the semi-auto.

The lack of the magwell on the single shot demanded the sloped trigger guard that I could see looks vaguely like the magpul. However, quite honestly... I don't know if there are very many ways that one can do a trigger guard when machined out of billet. ;) Unless you wanted to go with a crazy drooped design like a POF, which I do not care for in the slightest.

Do you have any suggestions on how it would be modified if you do not like the current design?

I appreciate your input.

do you have any other views of the semi auto lower?

orkan

You bet. :)

I should have a couple prototypes in my hands within a few weeks.

I agree. I prefer the more tradition style markings. Nice looking lower though. Looks solid.

I personally like the donkey on there and using BOHICA as a name is a nice light-hearted twist for a product being marketed to people who take themselves waaaaaay to serious sometimes. I would like to see an actual lower pictured but everything looks good so far.

OK, I pre-ordered yesterday. So, I guess I'll be the guinea pig for this one.

Now, get these babies out so I can post my impression for the M4C crowd.

Need BCM to get some upper in stock too.

Yes, so long as you have a FFL that is OK with dealing in "off list lowers."

Wow, the front of the magwell looks exactly like the one on the Magpul lowers:

Well, do things look on schedule to start shipping in June?

I already pre-ordered one of your semi AR lowers and was considering ordering a second, but would like them shipped together as it will save me $20 on the transfer from my FFL.

Also any actual pics yet?

Thanks....
