View Full Version : 36" rifle case
I need a case for my Ar. preferably one that will carry extra mags, etc. I looked at a pelican 1700 but after I handled it I think its too heavy. I want to go with a softcase. I like the looks of the Condor http://sptactical.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=64 but everywhere that sells it Looks like a chi-com Airsoft, mall ninja store.
Can any one recomend me a good, well made, 36" rifle case for <$100. I could spend more but I want to satrt there.
I have the 5.11 case (http://www.google.com/products?rlz=1C1CHMB_enUS291US303&sourceid=chrome&q=5.11%20tactical%20rifle%20case%2036%20inch&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wf) and I am very happy with it. I have the one for my shotgun and pistol as well. I really like those cases...
Cheers,

I used a 36" Diplomat Gear rifle case...great case. its discreet, and can hold one or two rifles in different configs.
I recently replaced it with a 42" Voodoo Tactical 2-gun case so I can carry my AR and shotgun in a single case...
I use a iShot SERT case (http://www.sertsystem.com/html/sert-cases.html) for my Commando and it has worked great. I plan on buying two more; one for a new 6920 and another for my Benelli M4.
Larue sells a very nice 36in soft case. They offer a standard model for just over $100 and an upgraded one for around $150. The upgraded one is designed to fit perfectly in the 3100 Storm Case.
I'm using a TAC Force "Discrete" Soft Case and like it a lot. Similar build to the 5.11 bag (which also looked good to me) -- thick Cordura, solid zippers, and my bag came with a mag holder (three pouches, holds six standard AR mags) and pistol strap velcro insert inside the zippered outside pocket. It's well-padded and has a nice shoulder strap.
The company name is a bit "tacticool" but the bags are solid.

Tac-Forces for me too, great cases. Jeff

I have the Condor in both 36" and 42" - it's an EXCELLENT bag for the money, with lots of inner pocket space as well!
I have the Condor case and love it. It gets banged around in my Patrol Car and has held up very well. I carry 6 spare P-Mags in the center pouch and assorted cleaning gear, tools and batteries in the two outboard pouches
I found a good deal on a 5.11 so we'll see how it holds up
The best of the cheap cases is Maxpedition ($72).

Thanks for the info, I will be ordering one in the near future, I'll want the two gun model.
I have a Tactical Tailor case that I really like. Would have gone for the Eagle, but the TT was cheaper.
I don't know about the best but I run 35" Galati XT Premium Rifle Case
I have three of them so I guess you can say I like them. I like the HEAVY padding, well built with all good parts. PLUS they float, in case you get into a boating accident and lose all of your weapon ;)
I purchase from Wiskur, they are good people, with fast shipping.

Try looking at lapolicegear.com they have diplomat and 5.11 cases, a lot of the stuff is usually on sale. I bought the 5.11 case, its too long for my ar but pulls double duty between the ar and the rem 700. It also came with a set of ar mag pouches and has lots of space for other gear.
