Get out and shoot that thing dude! I'm assuming it's unfired due to the viginity of the ejection port. I only fired a few rounds through my CQB and it's dinged up already! :)

Koalorka - have you owned a CQB in the past? I can't remember. Which do you prefer? Are you using it for service rifle? That's the only benefit I can see in the Carbine vs. the CQB. I'm beginning to doubt my choice of the CQB somewhat - the carbine looks pretty nice!

Indeed, I used to own one. The 551 was always a dream gun of mine and at the time, it was practically unobtainable; very few were imported into the country so I went ahead a got the next best thing, the CQB. When the Carbine "accidentally" became available I had to have it, I knew it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity. What I love about the carbine most is that it combines all of the best characteristics of the 550 in a lightweight and compact package. It's considerably lighter than the 550, it uses the ultra-reliable piston/bolt carrier of the 550 and is fully interchangeable, whereas the 552/CQB uses an AK-style recoil spring and guide rod. The 551 is also pretty damn effective out to 400 m and will take a 40 mm GL 5140 grenade launcher (still looking for one). It's the perfect combination.

Get out and shoot that thing I really like that rifle but am not willing to put out the coin for one. If I did buy one I would never shoot it it is just too nice. Get a 556 classic and shoot it.

The 551 still ranks as #1 on my wish list..too bad only a few were imported before the window closed in '89. An absolutely beautiful gun:eek:

Is that a post dealer sample or did you get lucky with one of those 200 sig "found" and sold earlier last year? Guess the rest of us are just going to have to settle for a 556 Classic if we want to even come close to the quality of a 551...:(
