Guys,
I just ordered a Vickers Sling from Blue Force Gear (who just so happens to be in my home state of GA BTW!).
SO, I am now wondering if I should just use my stock sling studs on my new Colt 6920, OR if I should order some other type of sling studs????
Simply put guys, I want the BEST. IF there is a better method of attachment for the Vickers-6920 combo, then I want to immediately, if not sooner, order the BEST sling studs made.
Should the stock sling studs be used, or is there something that would better suit the Vickers sling???

I suggest you use the stock sling mounts. There's nothing wrong with them and they are already paid for.

This is how I run them on all 3 of my LE6920's:

Sorry I don't have pics of the LE6920's, but this will show you how I attach the sling to both the stock and the LaRue rails.

If you aren't running rails this is how I attach the Vickers sling (using the Colt side sling mount):

I went with HK loops I got from The Wilderness (http://thewilderness.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1_13&products_id=373)

They are still QD but you don't have to worry about the sling getting all twisted up.

Oh, and I got rid of that DD ring, it was just to big and floppy, and I replaced it with one of these from MI.

Well guys,
I got the Vickers sling mounted, and I absolutely love the sling. The only thing I don't like about my setup, is that I wish the stock Colt sling mount up front towards the bbl, had some type of swivel action to it. Ideally, it would not swivel a full 360 degrees, as that always allows the sling to get all twisted up. What would be great, is if the exact mount that is there now, were to be able to swivel back and forth about 90-180 degrees.
I am looking up at USMC03's first pic above, and I am wondering if that mount he has will swivel in BOTH directions, or does the metal loop just swivel, as my stock Colt one does???

Not the biggest deal in the world, but when you have the rifle and sling on your shoulder, with the bbl pointed down to the left of your LEFT foot (right handed shooter), the sling fabric gets all bunched up and the Vickers sling just begs for a swiveling stud.....
Best I can explain it guys,
Does everyone follow me?

BTW,
I'm not really digging the Wilderness loop shown above either. I much prefer the quietness of NOT having a metal hook that is then hooked up to the Wilderness loop. It's much quieter when you don't add an extra metal-to-metal contact point....
Thanks for any thoughts....

Love the sling though...

The Danial Defense swivel base only moves a little bit, maybe a 1/4 turn each way if that, it's nice.

Well,
I have been looking at that QD Swivel Stud from DD, and I'm simply wondering if this sling swivel happens to be turned UP towards the direction it NEEDS to be when the sling is in use???
I realize it doesn't swivel up a LOT, but perhaps MORE than the Colt (which does NOT swivel UP at ALL)??

It will swivel enough if I understand what you're saying. While the blaster is hanging to you're left side, the swivel will need to rotate counterclockwise-towards the muzzle, allowing the sling to hang freely without the bind.

My opinion is that you will never fully avoid any twisting, bunching, etc. You can help alleviate alot of issues by having the most usefull gear according to the intended application.

I think Dinger mentioned that using a rear swivel allows to much rotation and the sling twisting.
Use the DD front and hard point the rear and you'll be fine.

If a twisting, bunching sling bothers you alot-use a rope, seen that done.

Don't over complicate the sling, it will drive you frking nuts. I don't think there's any one "perfect" sling-period.
