Upper/barrel ID

I just received what is supposed to be a new RRA upper with a Wilson chrome-molly, 1/9 twist barrel.
The barrel itself is in government profile. The only marks I found were almost next to the delta ring, on the top part of barrel, they read N 9 followed by a sign that looked like splat with pointed edges.
I am wondering if it is indeed a true wilson 1/9 chrome molly barrel?
Also, if it is a new upper, there appears to be some residue inside the barrel. Is it expected from the factory lube/grease, etc ?
