Any guess to average mag life compared to a CProducts SS?

Very interesting. Thanks for posting it!

ETA: Will Magpul be making the specialized floorplates for this mag?

Nope, but if you read their comments, these mags are not designed to be a replacement for hard use shooters.

I think the design is cool and the price is good. I imagine that they are using ISMI CS springs as well (which is a nice touch).

What reason would one have to choose these over USGI or CProducts SS mags?

On a side note, if Magpul were to make uppers the entire AR could be build of their parts. My useless $0.02

Well, lets say you wanted one in FDE or OD and didn't want to pay $28 for one coated by G&R. :)

I think they are a neat option, but I don't know that will fit everyones needs.

Are you certain about the spring? If that is an ISMI spring, they must get a better price than you for the springs. :D You charge $10.00 for a spring; you said they will charge $11.95 for spring and the rest of the magazine components, too.

I think they're cool, and the price is outstanding. At the worst, they're a nice range mag with good features, and at best, if they are up to typical Magpul quality, they'll be a lot more durable than people expect.

If anything, they will become the official magazine of gunporn photos everywhere.

OMG!

Being the mag whore that I am I guess I'll have to start hording these as well. So be it! :D

I can think of lots of uses for these.

Just from the pictures that are posted, it doesn't look like it has the pressed in sections that a metal magazine has. If that is that case, will these hold and feed other rounds (6.8, 6.5, etc.) as well?

Yes, as the owner of ISMI told me that they buy springs from them.

Magpul & I pay the same price for springs (now).

Not sure I need the window, but I can see a use for these as range mags.

I have some of the window model that they cut into Cproducts SS mag bodies. They are nice and did find myself looking at the window from time to time to see how many rounds were left.

If any polymer mag would survive it, I believe magpul would make it.

However, I see these as range mags, not to remain loaded for extended periods.

I got yelled at at the Pat Rogers class for pulling my mag to look in the mag catch hole to see how many rounds I had left.
"Nice tactical mag change, Rob" was I think what Pat yelled. :D

Agree. That is a Tactical no-no. With the window, you don't need to! :D

According to Magpul, the mags will come with CS springs, but are NOT made by ISMI. This may change in the future.

You're really not helping.

I don't want to develop bad habits that won't work with other magazines. Yeah that's it.:)

Has Magpul mentioned creating a ranger plate for these or do they appear not to need one? Thoughts anyone? What else is up Magpuls sleeve? These guys just keep creating new products faster than I can make the money to buy it.:D

That's a concern of mine... Do you remember the "disposable" mags that Uncle Sam tested back in the early 80s?

These would be a good option for that role (imho) if they had used the same spring system -- would be interesting to see someone bring that idea back.

No chance of that, but do offer bulk discounts on them if you need a lot.

They will be making Ranger plates for them and they should be cheaper than the standard ones (so I am told).
