First post on the board.:)

Here is the primary reason I joined. I haven't kept up with the AR enhancements for some years and knew this was the best place to help me out.

I have an AR that has served me fine for deer hunting (taken numerous bucks), worked well for me in competition. This rifle has come to this configuration over trial and error for about 20 years.
Its a cut down 20" barrel to 16", with Yankee Hill free float rail, solid buttstock.
The gas system has functioned fine considering the cut in the back pressure from the barrel chop.
My eyes are not as great as they have been in the past an some magnification could help.
So I want to mount this new Leupold Heavy Duplex Shotgun 1x4 scope on my rifle using the Leupold's QRW High rings. I want the rear of the scope to clear and sit above the ARMS #40L rear site when folded down.

The height needs to be roughly the same or higher than the Trijicon Reflex using the M-4 mount. The Trijicon is shown for height illustration, not planned to be used in-line.

Most likely the riser mount will need to extend past the front of the receiver.
What are my options?
Any pictures of similar setups using QRW rings on a picatinny rail riser?

I may consider swaping out the front sight with a flip-up back up on the rail and a smooth profile barrel/gas unit replacing the front sight.
What are the options, here too?

I have a DCM free float-AR, M4gery free floater, and a crappy Oly-9mm AR too so this one is more my go to Hunting / fun use gun.

I use the GG&G Scout rail:

It extends past the front of the upper, and has worked very well for me.

How about this one. Not sure if it will clear the hand guard though.
