View Full Version : M4 sling mount..
Anyone have a good source for one of the M4 sling mounts like BC has here (http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Sling-Mount-for-Barrel-p/sling%20mount%20-%20brl%20-%20side.htm)? Paul is out of them. I need one like this that has the reversible lock plate to fit a light barrel.

The only place I can think of that has the one that fits the .625

I have an actual Colt piece, but it's seen better days. Still functions for me, but it's pretty beat up. I hunted high and low, and finally someone on TOS saw my quest and PM'd me that he had one he'd sell me. Don't remember his name, dang it, or I'd check to see if he has more (I need another myself). If you stumble on a source please let me know.
re: the Bushmaster part, if you decide to go that route I'd like to hear your impressions and see pics of it mounted to the skinny barrel.
Hawk,
check out DPMS http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/products/?prod=2190
They will be at the SHOT show, (I heard you are going) You might talk them out of one.
Thanks Nick. That looks like it will work. Yeah, I will be there, so I'll have to stop and talk with DPMS. :D
Paul, yeah, I saw BM had them, I just liked your price better. ;) DPMS seems to be about the same in that regards.

Brownells?
I've been looking for one too and have seen some going on the EE for $40, for Colt units. Not being in a rush i was just waiting for Paul to get more in :D
Nick, glad to see another Okie on board.
Hawkeye, try Brownells. I got one there for my gun last year, cannot remember who made it though, but it works great...
Stag Arms lists a "Side Sling Swivel Assy" for $27 on their web store.
Also Rock River carries these IIRC. You probably would need to call them to see if these work with light barrels.

the one shown is not 2 sided so it will not work on a pencil barrel.

Anyone mount one of these up to their light barrel yet? I received my second 6933 and need to get it setup the way it should be. The side sling is the last piece of the puzzle.
Do you have a rail?
If so then GG&G has a nice attachment. I use it with a Specter sling.

Since the pic was taken I've removed the stock sling loop.
No, this is the "stock" rifle with minimal changes, so no rail.
Pro -mag makes them, The Armory carries them for 13.00
Check with Smith and Wesson. The M&P's come with them.

That's not the barrel profile I'm looking for.

I think I have one, got it off ebay back in the old days when you could get AR parts there. I was expecting a M4 SSS and got this instead. Im in Moyock for the next 2.5 weeks so will have to check when Im home.
I'm looking for the same item, for pencil barrel. I refuse to pay $40 for such a simple item. There has to be somebody out there that sell them at a reasonable price.
I'd like to know about that reversible sling mount. When you install the narrow side toward the thin profile barrel, is there any play in it?
The one I had had some play on a light barrel so I used the old school wire triangle that goes under the gas block. I put heat shrink tubing over it to keep it quiet.

That's what I'm trying to find out.
I ordered one from DPMS (only because I wanted to get a old style Phanton flash suppressor, and Bravo Company was out of sling swivels), and am thoroughly disappointed in it.
Looks wise, it was cast out of potmetal. It's not parked or anything, the finish looks like Em-nu.
Functions wise, the roll pins were too large, and took a lot of work to remove them to mount to the barrel, and a lot of hammering to attach. Once attached to the Bushmaster lightweight I have, it flopped around almost like I had used the .750 concaved side. The sling loop on it seemed oversized, or slightly oversized due to the rubber coating, that it interfered with my MI flashlight mount.
When Bravo Company gets these in, I'll pick up one then.

Promag makes the reversible adapter as someone pointed out earlier. MidwayUSA has them for $14.99.

The problem, I suspect, with the reversible models is that they're going to be loose. The loop is sized for the larger barrel which could (will?) lead to slop. The dedicated skinny barrel mounts have a properly sized loop.
I ordered a reversable one from CMMG. Got it today. VERY nice quality. Its a little loose, but not bad at all. Not nearly as loose as the aluminum one I had on there that was for the small barrel and broke off in the middle of a drill though.

I went rummaging thru the junk drawer in my tool box today. Found an early side sling swivel mount for use on M16s. The PN is 12598618
On the opposing side is a stamping with M16A1 & M16A2 with an arrow pointing to the respective cut out.
First one to meet me on BW T5 with something multicam to trade gets it:D
If you're just looking to sell it, drop me a PM with a price and we'll work something out.

Thats the exact one I got from CMMG. Same markings.

In that case, scratch my request for a price above!
Hey, if you can get it from LukeM cheaper.... why not?

I'm really hoping to find the right thing. I have the right one on my 1B carbine (basically stock 6520) and it works great.

If you have to have it right now order it, Im here at BW for the next 2 weeks, training 6 days a week, 12 hours a day. Getting to the post office out in Moyock when its open is a bit of a problem.
Otherwise I will be happy to send it to you when I get back to NOVA.
