It works, it's on the weak side and pretty dirty.

It's about the easiest to get right now and I've been shooting a lot of it lately since I don't have time to reload nor do I have an ammo sponsor...............ya hear that Black Hills? ;)

Is PMC is about the same as Wolf steel case?
Would American Eagle be considered better than PMC?

Thanks again!

The PMC is usually a little more powerful than Wolf and yes AE is better usually. Lately seen quite a bit bad AE and Fed XM193.

PMC is top-notch stuff!
It's my favorite .44 Mag brass for reloading

Shot a few hundred rounds of PMC. It is for sure better than wolf steel case because, well its not steel case, its re-loadable brass.

I've always had great luck with PMC ammo, but like Gotm4 mentioned it is very dirty. Especially when compared with Mil-Spec ammo.

I agree with Rampant Colt....their brass works well for handgun reloading (i've used it for .357)...haven't tried to any of their stuff though for rifle reloads.

i've seen a ton of it shot it works very well. current lots appear to be much cleaner burning than past lots.

I've found that shooting PMC Bronze in an SBR is like pouring a handful of sand into your action with each shot. While I never had a failure to fire, I had extraction problems after a magazine or two.

As best as I can tell PMC uses slow-burning powder and with the short barrel a lot of it goes unburnt and ends up in your chamber and receiver. Outside of the Polymer coated Wolf, this is the dirtiest ammo I have ever shot.

However, it seems to do well with longer-barreled rifles. Take it FWIW.

PMC Bronze has been the easiest to get brass cased ammo in my area for some time. I haven't shot a LOT of it, but the 4-500 rounds of it I have put through my 10.5" LMT and 16" BCM have been fine. No misfires, failures to eject, etc. It is fairly dirty, but that doesn't seem to be a big issue.

I've chronod PMC out of a 20" at about 3025 fps. Wolf 55 gr did about 2950 fps. To compare with real M193, I just chronod some Twin City from 72' it did 3300 fps, it felt it too.

As indicated above by others, it is pretty dirty ammo. I've shot about 1500 rounds of their recent manufacture .223 in three different rifles and about 500 of their .40S&W in two different pistols; all with zero ammo-related failures. I never know whether a batch will have sealed primers, visible annealing, etc; some do, some don't. Some batches seem to run hotter than others, as well (although, I have no chrono data to back this up, just my feeling from having shot various flavors of ammo.) PMC is somewhat unpredictable, which is not what I like in ammo I intend to rely on for anything more serious than a rectangular one-way range. I do like to keep plenty around for punching holes in innocent paper targets, though. Just be sure you have something with some more oomph for more serious uses.

I shot ~1200rds of PMC Bronze at an EAG class back in march and i didn't have a single malfunction. My gun has about 1600rds through it now without cleaning, only 16 drops of lube to date :)

.233 PMC Bronze, as others have said can be dirty. In my experience it varies from lot to lot. I have shot thousands of rounds of the Bronze with out any ammo related malfunctions. I did notice one batch I bought was ridiculously filthy.

Slightly under powered compared to M193 (5.56), but much better than UMC. The past couple years it has been my "cheap stuff" ammo.....until now;

I just got a Cabela's add in the mail. PMC Bronze on sale, SAVE 15%! $10.99 a box! Are you kidding me? It was good stuff when it was $7 a box, not on sale.

I have been shooting alot of PMC .223 55gr Bronze out of my DDM4 16" carbine in the last month. In the last 30 days about 1200 rounds, I am new to the AR-15 platform and just went a little crazy...

When you first see it, it looks clean on the outside(I am used to tarnished and filthy 7.62x51 surplus stuff I use in my M1A) I have been loading onto ten round stripper clips to ease mag loading at the range(10 rounders only in Ca +BB) My hands are filthy after every 100 rounds.

I shoot about 250 rounds per session, and the BCG, chamber, and barrel are very dirty. I run my gun very wet, so that may contribute to the residue. Its no big deal to clean it up with the proper cleaning supplies.

Shooting it: This ammo has had zero cycling problems, I shot 500 rounds of it one day. Grouping was better than the Wolf I tried in my first session with this rifle by quite abit.

For .41 cents a round at Cabela's with two free ammo cans(1200rd) price...I will stick with it until better ammo choices become available.

If you buy it in bulk from Cabela's, it's still a pretty decent price. Shipping costs at Cabela's can be decreased by ordering multiple cases at once using their flat-rate $19.95 shipping. This is not true of most other vendors, so if you buy 2 cases, you end up saving more over other vendors.

PMC Bronze .223 prices today (06/19/2009):

SurplusAmmo=> 1000 @ $379 + $32.72 shipping = $412.71 or $.41/rd
Cabela's=> 1200 @ $499.99 + $19.95 shipping = $519.98 or $.43/rd
SportsmansGuide=> 1000 @ $470.33 +$19.49 shipping = $489.82 or $.47/rd
AbleAmmo=> 1000 @ $499.50 + $28.30 shipping = $527.70 or $.52/rd

Yeah, I just bought 600 rnds @ .43/rd a couple months ago. I just about shit myself when I saw $10.99 a box. I live close to a Cabela's. Everytime I would go in I would always snag at least a box or two when they were $6.99 a box. I was OK with that price. But...$11 a box, with 15% off, come on....
