i wonder what you guys are doing to secure your "truck" ar's (reserved for serious social purposes).

i've seen a few expensive trunk or bed boxes, but was thinking more along the lines of a lockable rifle case that can be tucked under the rear seat of pickup truck. and i guess one that can be securely attached via bike cable to the truck itself.

there's a lockable pistol case out there that's similar, but no AR storage, to my knowledge.

goal here is to prevent the casual thief from making an easy heist of a black rifle, yet have it reasonably accessible when needed.

i like the under-seat storage because it's out of sight and likely out of (thief's) mind.

Works for me! Ye olde Dodge Ramcharger's flip bench seat in the rear, leaves PLENTY o' space for an AK a couple mags and a drum... or so I hear tell... ;)

Big Sky Racks Inc. (http://www.bigskyracks.com/index.html)
Santa Cruz Gunlocks (http://www.santacruzgunlocks.com/)

I don't have any of these products, just throwing it out there for ideas.

Two threads on 10-8: Here (http://www.10-8forums.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=tacticalgear&Number=78735&Searchpage=6&Main=78717&Words=Vehicle+rack&topic=&Search=true#Post78735) and here (http://www.10-8forums.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=73760&page=&fpart=1&vc=1).

I wouldn't want a visible rack like a patrol car, maybe something like Santa Cruz's SC-5 Gun Lock mounted on the floor in the back or on the back cab wall.

It looks slim enough to fit between mounted lights and vert grips if your truck gun is so equipped.
