I thought that the Frontline on the Battle of Mogidishu was excellent, it's included on a DVD in the Blackhawk Down special edition DVD.

This looks to be damn good too.

Just a heads up.

Just got done waqtching it from the DVR, I'm pissed at Palkistan.

I mean, I KNEW they weren't really helping us, but HOLY SHIT, their ISI actively SUPPORTS the Taliban, and yet they are our "Ally"?

Interesting episode. Ever see the Frontline in the Rwandan genocide?

Another good one.

Although I missed the Taliban episode, Frontline is a very interesting program imho. I always try to catch it when I can, which isn't often. They were showing the repeat The Secret History of Credit Cards (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/credit/) recently and I rewatched it, a very good episode. Hard to believe ppl only pay the minimum payment. I guess the cc companies bank on it. Me, I'm a deadbeat. If you take the cc quiz (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/credit/etc/quiz.html), you'll know what a db is.

I was going to start a new thread, but this is kind of similar, so I'll piggyback. I was going through some old video tapes and found a "National Geographic Explorer" about the town of Darra, Pakistan - where they make all kinds of weapons w/ VERY primitive methods.

The documentary went into detail on not only the gun industry, but the blood feuds that are constantly flaring up. Those are some hard people. Some memorable quotes from haggard toothless gun-makers:
"I don't make a gun for a man to kill someone, I make it so he will give me 5 rupees. Ha, ha, ha!"
"If you had 5000 rupees and I have a gun, I would kill you and take your money. Ha, ha, ha!"
That's one nice thing about Arabs/Persians/Pashtuns - you don't have to wonder what they're thinking.
