anybody tried the new spikes tactical muzzle break? it looks pretty nice, i think im gonna give it a try unless someone has had bad results with it. its pretty new however. They claim it reduces felt recoil and muzzle climb dramatically.

im kind of curious as to what this break and one of their ST-T2 buffers will do to the recoil of my gun.

Looks damn near like the EGW (http://egw-guns.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=53&products_id=148) brake I've been using on my 3 gun rifle for years.

If it works as well as the EGW, it's as good as anything on the market in terms of recoil reduction. Not sure I'd be too keen on titanium though. A couple places were making titanium comps for IPSC open pistols and they were prone to cracking and that's with way less pressure and less gas than an AR.

wow, actually, it looks identical. do these do anything for flash reduction? would this potentially be blinding at night in the dark? or do they atleast keep the flash out of your site plane?

I never really shot that particular gun at night but compensators in general do not reduce flash at all. The whole point of them is to impact the high velocity gas on the baffle (braking action) and it has to vent somewhere. Some comps/brakes make some effort at flash reduction and recoil reduction but generally, brakes are only somewhat better than a bare barrel and that's mostly because it's blowing out the sides as you mentioned - at least in the case of these. You're not going to have a huge fireball like a bare barrel though.

I can tell you the EGW brake is about as efficient as any on the market for braking efficiency. My 105 lb wife has one on her 3 gun AR and the recoil doesn't move her any more than a 22lr.

wow thats pretty awesome. mabey ill just get one to try out for the fun of it. if i dont like it i dont like it, ill sell it. ive also considered the VLTOR compensator, as this is supposed to do a little of both. it looks like its mostly a flash hider though that has a little bit of compensation ability to it.
