Hi Folks,

Does anybody know the history about these pistols and what kind of value do they have? The only thing I could find online are SW1911 pistols.

I am not a 1911 guy (or pistol guy ;)) and don't the first thing about these.

Here are some pics...

Don,

If I remember correctly, these were built by the gunsmith at Gunsite and offered for sale through their pro shop.

I do not beleive that this was a factory model offered by Springfield.

I think Rich has it right. Gunsite has partnered with a few manufacturers to produce factory Gunsite models over the years (I personally wish I had picked up a pair of the colts),but I think the gun pictured above is a factory Springfield that has been worked by the "gunsmithy", not a factory gunsite model.

Ted Yost (Heirloom Precision) was the gunsmith during a significant portion of the time this gun was being offered. Call him and see if there is a way to ID if he worked on this build.

I "almost" bought one of thse guys years ago...
The gun had been shot quite a bit, but was still in great condition. It had everything I wanted without any unnecessary "add-ons". The seller was asking $600, which seemed a little "steep" back then.

Rob,

Gunsite still have Colt for sale @ $1,600 ponies. Check out their website.
