Memorial Day Weekend Plans?

I am in the terminal, waiting for my flight back to VA from Okinawa. Having kicked some good optics instruction to about 500 deploying Marines, I plan to sleep the sleep of the just and reacquire the ability to drive on the right (in both the literal and the 'correct' sense of the word) side of the road.

It will STILL be Saturday when I land, so...you, there! DON'T EAT THAT SUSHI!!

I'm going to hang out with the family this weekend. I'm getting lucky and will have three full days at home this weekend so I'm going to chill out with the family and appreciate the time I have because of the brave men and women that made it all possible.

I plan to hit the range today, but Monday I'll be on Post to put a flower on the grave of each of my buddies who are buried there.
1. Lt/Cdr Vince Lopresti, he was Bear Bryants deputy Commander at Point Loyarte in North Africa during WW2. We coached together for 10 years.
2. Lt David M. Pimple USMC, my nephew, Killed in Korea in 1989.
3. MSG Chuck Twomey, my Plt Sgt in Berlin 1961.
4. Sp/4 Bobby Armbruster. died of Agent Orange related Cancer, I was his Plt Sgt, when I was wounded in Honduras he walked me to Dusty.
5. Cpl George Salcido, brother of one of my closest freinds, I borught his body back from VN, Ft. Huachuca Memorial Day was dedicated to him a few years ago. He was killed by a short round near Camp Evans.

Gonna wash & wax cars later today. Monday morning, #1 son and I will be with the Boy Scouts at a local cemetry for a Memorial Day ceremony, and then placing flags on all the Veteran's graves.

My plans are nothing spectacular. I am cleaning around the house at the moment and doing laundry. Tonight is my graduation party since I earned my BA. I am catching up with a friend who found me on facebook that I have not talked to since the mid-90s. I am sure yard work will be in the cards as well. Have a safe weekend everybody!

For the first time in a long while I have a 3 day weekend. Both of my jobs are closed on Monday and the motorcycle shop is closed today.

Im planning on going to the range with my wife today and going to the ACES hockey game tonight. Sunday we are going to H20asis and indoor water park with my three little girls. Which should be alot of fun. Monday, well back to the range alone.

1-1 winning with 3 goals to S.C. 1.

In spite of the jet lag, I woke up @ 0630 this morning, so I decided to use the opportunity to practice what I preach to my students by slapping my new upper on and taking it to the range to get the irons dialed in and an initial 33m BZO on my optic.

I picked up the upper about 4 weeks ago, but I haven't been able to find the time to warm it up. Shameful. Now I need to find 100m with which to confirm it.
