Just picked up an eotech 511 A1

I picked up an eotech 511 A1 from (a friend). I know all about the 511. The thing is that I was told it was a military issue eotech. Is the military version is just a little more tougher? The buttons are a different style. Is there any info anyone can offer? Here is a pic of it mounted on my rifle.

how much did you pay for that? thats not a revision F version is it?

the f version has a wider range of brightness settings right? I got it for a little over 200 bucks. I couldn't afford a brand new sight. how many brightness setting do non f marked eotech's have?

that sounds like a pretty good deal. im not sure what the differences are between the originals and the revision F sites. ive herd that the the pre revision f sights were more prone to failures of various sorts. i think that they used to have problems with the sites falling of the guns and stuff.

i have a 512 thats a revision f on my m4 and i love it. i picked it up for 350 from a dealer i do a lot of business with.

Yeah I though the f was for the newer versions with a wider brightness range and a longer battery life. I dont have mine onhand to check but i will asap. I really like the 1 moa dot for longer range shooting. I had a larger dot optic and at ranges of 200+ meters the dot would cover the whole target. so i like it alot. I didnt think I would need the 65moa ring. I went and sighted in at my range. I shot some s nice 25 meter 10 round group. heres a pic. I was thinking about adding a magnifier soon but i think it would make it more like a scope.
