Love the patches,
but what's this muzzle device? Looks like a AAC suppressor cut down into a cross between a Krink brake and an LMT rebar cutter.

I'm in for at least......oh I don't know......a metric shit-ton! :D
I'm in for a white one and a red/black. How do I get one?
I'm more interested in what is on the muzzle of that tan rifle. It's not a can; removable muzzle break?
it's a rebar cutter. my maxpedition stuff is screaming for some of those patches:D.

Its the AAC rebar cutter. Its primary use is for breaching, its secondary purpose is its high level of sex appeal.

I guess I don't need one of those then since my sex appeal is so high already.:p :D

What is the internal configuration of this component? Is it essentially just a hollowed-out tube, or is there some kind of blast-profiling sleeve or cone arrangement, similar to the KX3?

The AAC rebar cutter is pretty cool, though I have zero use for one. However, it's made me think though if there could be a market for a QD KX3...I'm reluctant to permanently attach a KX3 to my SBR, which functions quite reliably without one, but there have been times (particularly at classes) when I wouldn't mind attaching one for the comfort of my fellow shooters (I know, I know - I should just buy a can...all things in due time). I'd just prefer not to permanently add weight and length to my carbine. Would there be any NFA issues with making one QD?
Of course, price would be the determining factor - a KX3 is about $125 and that AAC Rebar cutter is over $400. A QD KX3 would need to be significantly cheaper than a suppressor to find a market (except in NFA prohibited areas).
Sorry to derail the thread - back to your regularly scheduled Magpul patch discussion...
Sweet patch. Further MagPul orders on hold until it shows up on the website...
Stick,
What kind of 'hawk is that?

The only way that logo would be cool is if it was on the side of a Masada available to us mere mortals.

Agreed those are more my flavor. I wish there was one that was just a black felx-fit cap w/o a top button with a white logo on the front and white website lettering on the back. Then repeat in OD green with black writing. I would probably buy many caps.
They could also to the 10th Aniv. hats the same way. Logo up front/ website on back. I know that no matter what not everyone will be happy. Not complaining, just sayin'.
But I digress.....:)

If I remember right, It's not available commercially... thank god!
Ya' know, people shouldn't post this stuff unless they have enough of them to share with everybody...
... just sayin'.
Now available on the MagPul website...

they're channeling AAC a bit, eh?

they're channeling AAC a bit, eh?
Yes, AAC invented the Jolly Roger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jolly_Roger). They've been around since the 18th century, after all

As quoted from the magpul site.
This 'skull and crossbones' is really the skull that our founder, Richard Fitzpatrick, designed for his USMC unit Alpha Company, 3rd Recon Bn. on top of a Roman numeral 'ten'.
The website has been updated with the patches.

Indeed. But AAC has been using that longer than other companies I'm aware of in the industry
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jolly_Roger
It's ironic that we glamorize 18th century pirates while skewering 21st century pirates.....
It's a symbol that's been in use for three centuries. It's been in domestic military use for at least a century.
Hell, it's even been on poison labels (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=poison%20label&sa=N&tab=wi&um=1) since at least the 1850's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skull_and_crossbones).
As quoted, and in following at least a century of military tradition, Fitzpatrick designed this particular logo for his battalion.
Yet Magpul is "channeling" AAC, even though this logo from Fitzpatrick is truer to the original Jolly Roger than AAC's stylized version? (I.E. it uses bones rather than AR's)
I can't even comprehend the level of loyalty one must have towards AAC (or bias against Magpul) to continue your line of argument, even after only a casual browsing of the article I linked. Give it up, man: it's a symbol that's been in common use for centuries.
Jeez Louise, you guys are taking this stuff way too seriously. I simply pointed out that Magpul's stuff (to which I am more "loyal" than AAC) was similar in branding to AAC.
Oh, and while you're at it, please let some of these companies / organizations know that they are copying AAC as well. The 80's bands will be especially surprised!

Anyway, in regards to the original topic....
Thanks for the pictures, as always, Stick. I ordered a few patches yesterday.

Dudes.....
Yes, apologies for going over the top, gentlemen - didn't mean to drift the thread that badly.
Stick, I really do appreciate all of your pictures and your skill with lighting.
We are all on the same side, and I don't think any of the manufacturers are trying to copy each other.
Lets start seeing more pictures....
I have looked on Magpul's website and not found the patches. Does anyone know if they are still available?
Here you go

Lets see...Al Gore invented the Internet, AAC invented to pirate...Hell, I brought sexy back!
No kidding - cool logo. Eventually these patches will be like trading cards. Who cares?
I really want to know if that rebar cutter works? Or were they just using spare parts from left over suppressor boddies?
The only way that logo would be cool is if it was on the side of a Masada available to us mere mortals.
Right, the original Magpul version not Shrubmasters.

It's just you. I don't think they want their patches on your fugly rifle.
J/k, I've never seen your rifle. They probably didn't update that part of the sight yet... maybe new sight issues.
