Guys,

Just got a small rail section and I'm putting it on some new Magpul hand guards.
This is still part of the LMT Defender build project I'm doing for my son.

I've never had rails on any of my Colts. My son is young..and I figured a VFG would help him grip/hold the rifle easier. So, having never had one before, I don't know how "hard core" I should go when tightening these things down. Don't want to strip anything or bend/twist the heat shield.

It's not keeping me up at night. I'd just like to do it right.

Sorry for the dumb question. I just figured you forum guys are out there.... I might as well tap into your vast storehouse of knowledge.

I don't think you need to go cranking down on them or anything.

A drop of Blue Loc-Tite on the screws and snug them up. I'd think they'd be GTG.

I did loc-tite, plus a 3/4 turn past finger tight on a buddy's KISS build. They haven't moved since.
