Price if farking right too, 5.00! No affiliation, but I ordered several of them. I emailed them and they said they're going to start making them in FDE too. :D:D:D

This has been mentioned here before at one point. I like the concept, and it made me interested in KAC's new handstop. I like the KAC more because it has the QD attachment, but for the price I keep returning to the website and wondering if the Ergo is any good. Let me know, I'm very interested and have a rifle already set up for one or the other.

I was thinking the same thing when I was on there buying my polymer rail for my MOE handguards... Especially since so many people say the point of a VFG is just for reference. I didn't try it, but let us know how it works out.

Not too sure that the Ergo unit is the form factor I have had in mind, but obviously, this "hand stop" concept is something that I've been thinking about for quite some time ...

5.00 and a dremel, you could reshape it to your hearts desire.

Mount it to the wall and you'll have someplace to hang your coat...er, tactical vest.

I think I'll stick to my VG. Looks like something to snag on gear to me but probably no more than a VG.

Just not my cup o' tea in the asthetics department.

This is a bit of a different design than the KAC.

The KAC allows the user to actually use the piece as a pseudo vert grip. Ie, it allows you to change the angle of your wrist to a more comfortable position.

Im not sure if this design will allow the user to do that since its a rather different angle.

For the price though it would be almost criminal to not give it a try. I think ill order one and see how it stacks up against my KAC.

I'd rather give that $5 to a heroin addict.

Obvious shitty copy of KAC's design. Looks too thin, like it would cut into the hand with a heavy grip.

Needs to be textured.

If you are going to copy something, atleast improve it.

I don't see how this looks anything like the KAC design at all. I did play with KAC's PDW after stopping by their booth at SHOT, so it'll be interesting to A) actually be able to get one in hand (actually selling and available) and B) run it for a bit.

Finger stops of various flavors are nothing new, as Tim said about them, 'its simply a Pearce mag extension that fits on a rail'. Hell, I made one out of a Magpul Glock Speedplate and a left over ARMS QD base.

Derek,

No offense intended and not to defend ERGO, but I believe their hand stop has been out for some time.

I've had a bit of expereince with ERGO products, and have to say they are a pretty good value for the money. Their Suregrip pistol grips are comfortable. I prefer the sizing of the MIAD with the large backstrap, but the Suregrips rubberized coating is nice. I don't really trust it's storage, but is a good value.

Their ladder panels pretty much are the standard. The others are OK, but not my personal cup of tea. Some of their VFG's are inexpensive and serviceable. I personally prefer the TD and have been giving the new DD a shake, but for the price they are good for those who want to see if a VFG is for them, before shelling out the $$$.

For the $5 I might would give this handstop a shake. The hook seems a little extreme for me, but I can think of worse things to piss away $5 on. As has been mentioned, I might would spend a little quality time with it and a Dremel to reshape it to what I would think would be a more useable shape.

All in all they put out a decent product, especially when factoring in the cost, and they fill a need for those on a budget, etc. And I would much rather give my money to them than CAA or Tapco.

Although, I really don't see myself dumping my TD stubbies for either anytime soon.

I actually don't see it, man. Especially since the ERGO product is supposed to be used like the stop on a MP5K-PDW. In fact, you could argue that the KAC is a rip-off of the MP5K-PDW since they are more similar in shape. Mind you, I AM NOT actually making that argument. I'm just pointing out that there are only so many ways to make a hand stop and I would understand your argument more if they were a new concept to the shooting world. They used to only be used faced back towards the shooter (MP5K-PDW) but that's what ERGO is doing here.

It's kind of an "off label" use that people are suggesting in this thread by flipping the ERGO around ;)

Yah apparently these are not exactly new to their line. I'll be curious as more and more companies come out with this sort of 'finger-stop' item, I can't help but wonder who will be quick to call foul for ErgoGrip?

I've had a bit of expereince with ERGO products, and have to say they are a pretty good value for the money. *snip* Their ladder panels pretty much are the standard.

If you look at the bottom of your Magpul ladder covers, they say.. well, I'll let you look.

Ok, now I have 3 here, and in hand and here's my quick thoughts:

1) The KAC and this are nothing alike now that I've handled both in person. The EG version is kinda shaped like an America's cup keel (google it) being tall and narrow and the KAC is a lot more like a Dragster scoop, wider and curved.

2) Most of you are gonna have to shave on it a bit to make it work. It uses two cross screws to secure it, and secure it is, but there's an annoying lip at each end thats going to have to be sanded off or shaped into a curve to make it comfortable to use.

3) Finish is 'meh'. Good bit of casting flash and rough edges, but it's also 5 fricking dollars.

4) Its kinda pliable and not any sort of super hard material. Its flexible like the Ranger Speed Plates from Magpul.

I don't have time to start chopping on it tonight, but maybe later I will.

I am interested in the KAC finger stop but I am a little confused  on what would be the best way to mount it I notice everybody uses it as a palm rest stop.
Can it be used as a thumbrest kinda like the ones used on pistols?

I am wondering if you use it has a thumbrest if it would help counter muzzle rize.
I though maybe it could be mounted on the side rail with the sling mount facing towards the muzzle

I don't have any Magpul ladder covers and that's why. I love my Magpul XT's and XTM's but I never saw a reason to buy the ladders, when I get them straight from ERGO. :D
