I have seen lots of carbines and mid lengths with handguards or float tubes the were rifle length.. Has anyone put a flip up or done a dissipator fsb on a carbine or middie? Reason I ask is I want to use irons and I want the maximum sight radius possible. If so please post pics;)
I have an extra yankee hill flip"clamps on barrel" up front and a standard fsb I can modify to fit in the tube... I was thinking of one of the YHM modular tubes for this..
Suggestions and advice are welcome.
Thanks

I saw someone's rifle not too long ago that did what you are talking about.

He ran a low pro gas block under the rails and installed an inop front sight base farther out. I just can't remember if I saw it here or on TOS.

I use this config. I have a 13.5 inch Troy rail, and only have about 3 inches of barrel out front. I have the Troy flip up battle sights. I will post pics ASAP. Looks great IMO.
