Differance in hammer springs

Have any of you noticed a diff in the hammer springs of diff parts kits. I have a RRA parts kit and the hammer spring on it is really stiff compared to the springs in a factory Colt gun and 2 DPMS parts kits. Its so stiff I could hardley get the hammer installed. It even looks heavyer and stronger than the Colt spring and the DPMS spring. Its making the build gun short stroke with a Bushy barrel. If I swap springs it stops short stroking. Why is there differant hammer springs.

sounds like you may have a mismatch spring from a 308 caliber ar.They appear to be stiffer and pack more whollup. To be sure tho, ask one of the guys here that really knows his poop. Good question tho.
