It looks like an AR up to the front of the upper reciever.... from there it must have some kind of movie land heat shield that covers the entire barrel?

Well, its got a Pmag, Tangodown pistol grip, and a CTR, but what's that behind the Eotech? Another RDS?

I did not notice that, it has two red dots mounted. What is under the barrel, it looks too small to be a grenade launcher, is that supposed to be a 12ga shotgun?

Looks like an Aimpoint and an Eotech.

The IMFDB page for the movie doesn't show anything on it yet:

http://www.imfdb.org/index.php/Transformers:_Revenge_of_the_Fallen

Anyway, I don't really care, I'll just call it a Phase Plasma Rifle in the 40 watt range and leave it at that.

Now that you mention it, it does look like a Comp M4. Lame. I can believe robots that change into cars and stuff, but 2 red dots on one rifle? I'm boycotting the movie now.

It looks likr the top of the Eotech shroud is going to be in the center of the Aimpoint. This setup appears to be a great way to render both optical aids as worthless as tits on a bull!

I put in M4Carbine.net but I keep ending up at TOS?

No, on TOS they would want to actually BUILD a rifle in that configuration. :)

They'd actually debate the merits of having an EOTech and an Aimpoint on a single rifle.

The sight behind the EoHell is an AN/PVS-14 night vision monocular.

Is that some sort of pump action gernade laucher that his hand is on?

Haven't seen the movie, but by the glow in the Aimpoint glass, maybe they are using it to simulate a night-vision or thermal imager.

OR

One red dot is for the rifle, the other is for what is ever hanging under the handguard.

Chortle...... better not let her hear you say that. You'll get a subpoena. ;)

They are making another one, good grief...

Only thing that made the first one even remotely palatable for human consumption was Megan Fox.

definetly a magpul stock and magazine, another visible accessories are eotech and aimpoint. Just an ordinary m4 with a weird looking handguard. plus the 12ga. shotgun.

come megan come !

I am fairly certain that the optic in the rear is an AN/ PVS-14 night vision sight.

Yep - and that's a VERY nice setup on YOUR carbine! :D Where's a "drooling" smilie when I NEED one! :p

Looks like they dolled up an M-4gery kinda like they dolled up a Thompson M1 SMG in Aliens to make the M-41 Pulse Rifle. It is definitely some sort of night vision monocular behind an EOtech 552/557.

I kinda want one. It would get lots of attention at the range!:D

When did Hollywood ever use real stuff? It's a movie about an idiotic robot cartoon. The guns real? JEEZ:rolleyes:

Actually there are alot of real guns to include class III weapons that are used in making Hollywood movies.

+1, you can tell by the mount, its a proper mount for the PVS14, wont fit any Aimpoint scopes.

It looks like it has a side charging handle, like an AK, rather than in the normal AR rear mounted spot.

The movie gun in Transformers is the movie gun in Transformers. What is the relevance here?

Maybe if they use it on set it is real and proven as configured, therefore something one of us should start working on?

Honestly not trying to be a killjoy, I just don't get talking about movie guns unless one is a curious novice.

+2. here's a pic of the pvs-14 on the issue 'bracket, mounting'. iraqgunz has the GG&G pvs-14 mount in his pic.

On the plane last night I saw a couple of minutes of some movie with Megan Fox and Lindsay Lohan. Now, knowing Megan's stripper penchant and Lindsay's dating habits, here's hoping for a off-screen romance, or at least a unscrupulous use of a video camera..

with or without a PVS-14.

Will simulated M855 fire penetrate a CGI robot?

At the risk of exposing myself as a curious novice, geek, what have you, the first movie established that the only human weapon capable of harming one of robots from Hades was a sabot round (they used the correct term but gave it the wrong damage mechanism). I suspect that what we have is an M4 that has been "modified" to shoot Transformersverse sabot rounds.

Will simulated M855 fire penetrate a CGI robot?

I do believe that it can if the angle of impact is not more than 10° from 90° to the surface being penetrated. Any more than a 10° skew would likely deflect cleanly off of the CGI barrier with little more than a color pallet adjustment and cause the simulated M855 to cause massive trauma to any unsuspecting crew members that you may have flanking the robot. With the AI, physics modeling and T&L as it is today, they can pull off some really interesting things in a world that can have a physics model based on anything they wish!

The Other Site - AR15.com.

Assuming you don't know of them, I will just say that it is a zoo over there nowadays.

TOS is too damn confusing to navigate for me. What the hell, it appears to be 10 forums and when I make a post I can never go later and browse to it. That site is just a flat out mess. It should be out of its misery. I vote = KILL TOS!
